Mary Josephine (Monn) Grove

Mary Josephine Grove, 95, of Leitersburg, MD, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Hospice of Washington County, Doey’s House, in Hagerstown, MD. Born December 30, 1925, in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Adam McKinley Monn and Mildred (Kipe) Monn. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Daniel Lewis Grove, Sr. who passed away November 17, 2012. They were married June 7, 1951. She was employed through the years by Waynesboro Knitting Mill, Rinehart Orchards and Washington County Health Department where she served 25 years. She was a member of St. Paul’s Free Lutheran Church in Leitersburg and a life member of the Musicians Union Local 770. Mary is survived by one son, Daniel L. Grove, Jr. and wife Twylla “TC”, one daughter, Nancy L. Grove Gudgeon and husband Lee, two grandchildren, Renee Marie Grove (Robbie Veil) and Jeffrey Alan Grove and wife Kathleen, two step-grandchildren, Dustin Coldsmith and Brandon Coldsmith and wife Johnette, one brother, Ronald Monn, one sister, Elaine Monn, two great-grandchildren, Addison Marie Frey and Cody Ashton Frey, ten step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Rosaline Wishard, two brothers, Ernest Monn and Donald Monn and two granddaughters, Melissa Dawn Gudgeon and Shelby Lynn Gudgeon. A graveside service will be held Monday, January 3, 2022, at 1:00pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Leitersburg, MD, with Pastor Mike Ross officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Mary Grove to the Leitersburg Volunteer Fire Company, 21431 Leiter St. Hagerstown, MD 21742. Arrangements were made by J.L.
