Mary Louise (Smith) Hahn

Mary Louise (Smith) Hahn, 95, a resident of the Chapelwood Unit at Quincy Home in Waynesboro, PA and formerly of Smithsburg, MD passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Quincy. Born August 2, 1925 in Leitersburg, MD she was the daughter of the late Martin L. Smith and Alice M. (Brown) Smith. Her and her husband, William Ervin Hahn, were married on September 4, 1940 in Thurmont, MD. He passed away on August 26, 2004 after almost 64 years of marriage. “Louise” was a most beloved and treasured wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend to all who knew her. She worked at Camp Louise in Cascade, MD for approximately 40 years. She was a member of the Blue Mountain Church of God in Smithsburg, MD and she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, hummingbirds and spending time with her family. She cherished her time at Camp Louise and continued to share her memories and stories, even as her health declined. Louise is survived by daughters, Patricia L. Martin (Grant) and Virginia A. Teter, son, Ronald W. Hahn (Beverly), sister, Jean “Chickie” Codori, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, two sisters, three brothers and several grandchildren and a great grandchild. She wanted her family to know: “Kids, don’t fret. I’ll be waiting to see you in Heaven.” Services will be held Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 2:00pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD with Pastor Richard Bruce Henneman officiating.
