In Loving Memory

Celebrating the Life of Mary Louise (Mert) Houdersheldt of Wiley Ford, W.Va. who passed away into the hands of her savior Jesus Christ on January 31, 2026.

Mert was born on Jan 7,1930 , In Cumberland, Md., to her loving parents Norman & Belva Van Meter of Fairgo. Along with her parents, Mert was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Marshall (Bill) Houdersheldt , Along with seven brothers and sisters : Brothers Milton, Jimmy and Billy and Sisters Wanda, Geraldine, Shirley and Joan.

Survived by her greatest loves, her son Dave Zembower and wife Cindi, her pride and joy granddaughter Krista and her children Noah and Rylee that were the loves of her life!

Also surviving is Linda Meanyhan the youngest in her family and last surviving sister. Mert  also leaves behind many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

Mert was so incredibly kind, generous and compassionate with all her family and friends. We take comfort knowing that she has been reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, mother, father, sisters and brothers and all her friends.

Mert has requested to be cremated and a celebration of life will be held a later date.
