Mary Jane Barkdoll

Mary Jane Barkdoll, 99, passed away on Sunday January 26th, 2025, at Sterling Care Nursing Home in Boonsboro, MD.

She had been a resident there for the last five years. Prior she lived at her home in rural Smithsburg, MD. Born in the Smithsburg area on January 25th, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Clara Bachtell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Barkdoll and her daughter, Sheree Baughman.

She is survived by her daughter Deborah Burns of Falling Waters WV, her granddaughter Candace Ryan of Frederick, and great grandsons Lincoln and Liam Ryan of Frederick. She was a lifelong member and attender of Lutheran churches: Greensburg Lutheran MD, and Evangelical Lutheran in Waynesboro PA. She was a wonderful homemaker; she enjoyed and was good at collecting and growing flowers.
