Maurita May (Palmer) Smith, 92, Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend of Springfield VA and formerly of Smithsburg MD. Passed away on Wednesday, March 10 at her home. Born March 7, 1929 in Smithsburg MD. daughter of Maurice W. and May B. (Fogler) Palmer. She was proceeded in death by her husband Thomas (Tom) Smith, September 9, 2018. She enjoyed reading, cooking, playing games, including a good game of Yahtzee or Mahjong. She is survived by son, Mike Smith; Daughter, Shelley Haley; Son-in-law, Todd Haley; Two Grandsons, Jamieson, and Cooper Haley; Two Brother-in-laws, Donald and Nevin Smith; and nieces and nephews. We love you and we will make you proud! Services will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 1:00 PM from J.L.Davis Funeral Home in Smithsburg MD. with Rev. Doris Haley officiating. Burial will be at Mt Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Myersville MD. Family will receive Friends one hour prior to service.
