Maynard Glenn Grossnickle, 93, of Myersville, Md, peacefully entered his eternal rest on August 13, 2025.
Born February 4, 1932 in Ellerton, he was the son of the late Robert Glenn and Edna Grossnickle.
He left school in the eigth grade to help his father on the family farm. He was a member of Grossnickle Church of the Brethren and attended church faithfully, serving as Deacon for many years and Cemetery Trustee with memories of digging many of the graves by hand. He was on the Board of Directors of The Myersville Bank and First United for many years and was a member of the Maryland Virginia Milk Producers Association, winning several awards over the years. He also won several Soil Conservation Awards in Frederick County.
Maynard married Jane Wolfe on August 25, 1952, they were very successful farmers and kept their farm in pristine condition. Maynard was a hard worker but always took time for his family taking them on camping trips to Cowan’s Gap sometimes traveling back and forth to do the milking just so the family could vacation together. Another favorite camping spot was Black Water Falls where many wonderful memories were made.
After he retired he and his beloved wife Jane of 70 years did much traveling and saw much of the United States, this was something he had promised her though the years of hard work on the farm.
Maynard leaves behind four children, Garry Grossnickle, Joan Grossnickle(Jimmy), Wayne Grossnickle(Karen),Donnie Grossnickle(Donna), one brother, Robert Lee Grossnickle(Betty), two sisters, Ruth Hinkle and Rebecca Bartow(Dave). Eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and many numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by His wife Jane, daughter in law Barbara Sue Grossnickle his precious granddaughter Jami Marie Marker, two sisters, Naomi, Martha, three brothers in law, Robert, Henry, Raymond.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
Officiating will be Pastor Kinley Simmers and Pastor Karen Grossnickle
Pallbearers will be Dave Grossnickle, Jordan Grossnickle, Kenton Grossnickle, Cameron Grossnickle, Dane Grossnickle and Luke Grossnickle.
