Mildred Maxine Keadle, 89, of Fairplay, MD, passed away early Saturday morning July 11, 2020 at Fahrney Keedy nursing home after suffering a fall in May.
Born August 18, 1930 in Frederick, MD, she was a daughter of the late Roscoe Hamilton Brandenburg and Evelyn Susan Hays Brandenburg.
She was a graduate of Smithsburg high school class of 1948 and Washington county school of nursing in 1951.
Mildred is survived by one daughter, Brenda Griffith and husband Sam of Fairplay, three sons, Thomas Earl Keadle, David Richard Keadle, and Larry William Keadle and wife Brenda all of Boonsboro, four grandchildren, Serena Zimberoff (Robert ), Christopher Griffith, Justin Keadle (Danielle) and Jeremy Keadle and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Howard Brandenburg.
She worked at Washington County hospital for 30 years as registered nurse retiring in 1993.
She was a member of St James Brethren church and former member of Mt Nebo United Methodist church for 60 years.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 11:00am at Smithsburg Cemetery with Pastor Jerry Butler officiating.
A closed casket visitation for friends will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD.
Memorial donations may be made in memory of Mildred Keadle to St. James Brethren Church 17718 Lappans Rd. Fairplay, MD, 21733 or Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church 134 S. Main St. Boonsboro, MD, 21713 or an Ambulance Company of one’s choice.
