Miriam Eckstine went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, November 3, 2024.
Born March 1, 1940, in Waynesboro PA, she was the daughter of the late Earl E and Mary C (Shipp) Kline.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harold, and her siblings, S. Camelia Eckstine, Janet Wastler, Glen Kline, and Ada Graybill.
She worked for various nursing homes including Quincy Home and Avalon Manor. When not working she was a welcoming mother, grandmother, and aunt, to many children over the years. Everyone was welcome to pack her house for holiday dinners. She would also never hesitate to selflessly help anyone in need. She enjoyed trips to the beach, gossiping and had a vast collection of owls.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Hagerstown
Miriam leaves behind her son and daughter in law Nelson and Kathy Eckstine, daughter Mary Emswiler, grandsons, Chris Eckstine John Emswiler and Andrew Emswiler and great granddaughters Emma and Sophia Eckstine.
Viewing will be private.
Family will receive friends at Welty’s Church of the Brethren on Thursday Nov 7 from 12-1, service and burial will follow.
