Nancy Jane (Eckstine) Mowen

Nancy Jane Mowen, 57, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Friday, October 23, 2020 at Hospice of Washington County Doey’s House in Hagerstown surrounded by family. Born February 13, 1963 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Leroy and S. Camellia (Kline) Eckstine. She was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School class of 1982. She was a member of Broadfording Church of God in Hagerstown. She was a housekeeper at four points Sheraton Hotel in Hagerstown. She loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter, she enjoyed working with and spending time with her horses, listening to Bluegrass music and looked forward to her yearly trip to Tennessee. Nancy Jane is survived by her husband, Steve Mowen, daughter, Sarah Rexrode and husband Patrick, son, Fred Porter, granddaughter, Luna Porter, sister, Ruth Pulieri, brothers, Allen Eckstine and wife Rachel and Walter Eckstine, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Porter and one brother, Mark Eckstine. Services will be held Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at 11:00am at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, with Pastor Sharon Gibbons officiating. Burial will be in Smithsburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Nancy Jane Mowen to J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave. Smithsburg, MD, 21783, to help defray funeral expenses.
