Otha Junior Stottlemyer, 96, of Sabillasville, MD passed away peacefully on Monday, June 10, 2024 at Fahrney-Keedy Nursing Home, Boonsboro, MD, surrounded by loving family.
Born on June 7, 1928 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Ruth (Smith) and Otha E. Stottlemyer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two Sons, Ronnie and John Stottlemyer; Grandson, Dennis Stitely, Jr.
Otha was employed as a stockroom manager at Moore's Business Forms until his retirement at the age of 62 years old.
Otha enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children in his younger years. He also was an avid mushroom hunter. In his later years, he enjoyed gardening.
He is survived by his loving wife of 78 years, Isabel L. (Hays) Stottlemyer; Daughters, Linda J. Stitely and husband Dennis, Sr., Patsy Harne and husband Charles, and Laura Wallace and husband, David, all of Sabillasville, MD; 13 Grandchildren; 24 Great Grandchildren; 20 Great Great Grandchildren; Brothers, Charles Stottlemyer (Shirley), John Stottlemyer (Alberta); Sisters, Betty Schroyer (Harold), Louella Yeager, Judy Jones; and many Nieces and Nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11 AM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave., Smithsburg, MD 21783 with Pastors Al Deal and Tony Marker officiating. Interment will follow in Garfield UMC Cemetery, Smithsburg, MD.
Family will receive friends Thursday, June 13 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
The family would like to send special thanks to the staff at Fahrney-Keedy Nursing Home for all of their special care, especially Otha's special nursing aide friend, Charles (Charlie)
