Patricia Ann Winans

Patricia Ann Winans, 71, of Hagerstown, MD, was set free from the pain of cancer on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. She passed away peacefully at her home with her daughters and sister by her side. Born Tuesday, August 20, 1946 in Columbus, OH, she was the daughter of the late Ruth White. Some of Patricia’s many accomplishments included, but not limited to, becoming a licensed beautician, acquiring four different certifications from Hagerstown Community College where she maintained the dean’s list and she taught at the Maryland School for the Deaf. She was a jack of all trades. She worked for many years as a bartender, road construction worker and painter. She was the entrepreneur of Pat’s Crafts and Treasures. She was very talented with all aspects of crafting. She held classes to teach others how to make items and this made her extremely happy. She would present her creations at various craft shows. She had a love for playing pool and was a proud member of the APA Pool Association. Pat is survived by daughters, Gail Miller and husband Mark and Danelle Winans, son, Eric Swyers, sister, Sharon Coburn and husband Lester and many beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Winans and her precious dog, Sadie Mae. The family will receive friends Monday, May 21, 2018 from 6-8pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD.
