Pearl Buhrman Obituary

Pearl May (Warren) Buhrman, 86, of Cascade, MD, entered the loving arms of her Lord and Savior on October 9, 2019. Born on June 1, 1933 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry “Short” Clayton Warren and Alice Amanda (Moser) Warren. She graduated from Thurmont High School in 1951 and from Waynesboro Business College in 1952. Pearl married the love of her life, Franklin “Dutch” Earl Buhrman, on May 29, 1955 at the Germantown Church of God with Reverend Clarence McGaha presiding over the ceremony. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years; sons, Dennis E. Buhrman, wife, Susie, and granddaughter, Kayla of Cascade, MD; Kevin E. Buhrman, wife, Trudy, grandson, Benjamin, and granddaughter, Abigail of Greencastle, PA; brother, Dale “Skip” Warren and wife, Carla of Blue Ridge Summit, PA. Pearl and Dutch lived in Chicago, IL for a year and a half while Dutch attended DeVry Technical Institute upon being discharged from the U.S. Army. Pearl began working at Charles S. Gardner’s Insurance Agency, Blue Ridge Summit, PA in 1952 and retired in 1995 from Keller Stonebraker Insurance, Hagerstown, MD with over 43 years in the insurance industry as a licensed insurance agent. Pearl was a devoted member of the Germantown Church of God and served as the church treasurer for 25 years as well as many years as a Sunday School teacher. She was also a member and officer of the Blue Ridge Mountain Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to spending time with family and enjoying her grandchildren, Pearl was an avid fan of NASCAR and cheered for the Washington Redskins during their glory days, but lately they haven’t given anyone much reason to cheer. Thanks in part to her loving husband & grandson, she was also an obligatory fan of the New York Yankees. Service will be held Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 11:00am at the Germantown Church of God, with Pastors Mark Hosler and Bruce Henneman officiating. There will be no public viewing; however, the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Germantown Church of God, 16924 Raven Rock Road, Cascade, MD 21719. Arrangements were made by J.L. Davis Funeral Home, Smithsburg, MD, and online condolences may be offered at www.jldavisfh.com.
