Rebecca Hollingsworth, 72, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Brookdale Assisted Living.
Born May 3, 1952, in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late Robert H. Hollingsworth and Donna Jean (Blankenbicker) Hollingsworth.
Rebecca graduated from Robert E. Peary High School in 1970
Becky was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed watching all of her hometown teams, the Washington Redskins, Wizards and the Capitols. She also loved to read and do crossword puzzles. Her coffee table was never without a book, the Washington Post and crossword puzzle in progress. Becky worked for Washington Orthopedics and Sports Medicine group for almost 30 years as an insurance processor. During that time, she met many pro athletes on her hometown teams at the office. Which was always a thrill for her.
We will always remember Becky's quick wit, great sense of humor, and her infectious laugh. Becky's knowledge of sports, music, history and current events was amazing. When any of us had a question on any of these topics, we'd say, "Call Becky!"
She is survived by her sisters: Elizabeth McIntyre (Michael), Christine Kavounis (Gus). Nieces and nephews: Melanie Chernoff (Jesse), Lauren Campbell, Christopher Kavounis (Annie), Kevin Kavounis (Samantha); as well as great nieces and nephews: Madison Willett, Brooks Campbell, Sophia, MacKenzie, Jonah and Carson Kavounis.
And her best friend Mariam Canning (Dave) and their children Dominic, Leo and Naomi.
