Obituary

Richard "Rick" Eugene French, 61, of Hagerstown MD, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at his home.

Born on January 19, 1962, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Ronald L. French Sr., and Blanche V. (Young) Shantz.

Rick loved music, and Ham Radio Operator, and was an avid guitar player.

He was a graduate of Waynesboro Highschool.

Rick is survived by his loving wife, Margie M. French, stepson, Joseph A. Clay Sr., step-grandson, Joseph A. Clay Jr., sisters, Eva Ingram, Pamela Spangler (Randy), and Mary Koons (Todd), brothers, Ronald French Jr., and Donald French (Ruth), sisters-in-laws, Dolly Hall, Kimberly High, and Crystal Mason, brother-in-law, Daniel Clay, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his stepfather, Raymond L. Shantz.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 4:00 pm, at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave, Smithsburg MD, 21783, and will be officiated by Pastor Julie Brigham.
