Robert “Rob” Wayne Buttry, Jr., 57, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024, at home. Born August 7, 1967, in Nevada, IA., to Mother Joan Heintz. Rob was a graduate of Newark High School Class of 1985. He went on to join the United States Air Force where he served for 4 years. He married his beloved wife, Denise Buttry, of 26 years on October 9, 1998. Rob was a Service Technician for Small Appliances with 25+ years of experience. Over those years he was employed with Routzahns, Sears and his current job, which he loved, Spicher’s Appliance and Security. Rob was a dedicated father to three children whom he loved dearly and 8 grandchildren that he adored. Rob loved coaching baseball, traveling with his family and friends, he loved spending time making memories with his grandchildren, his job and jamming to Prince records. He always put family and friends first, he was the light in every room he walked into. Rob is survived by his beloved mother Joan Heintz, loving wife Denise Buttry whom he cherished dearly, three children, Robert Corey Buttry and wife Colleen Buttry, Christian Buttry and wife Anna Buttry, Georgia Buttry and fiancé Nicholas Cool, three sisters Angie Probasco and husband Don Probasco, Kelly Myers and partner Jon McBroom and Abby Buttry, eight grandchildren, Annalyn, Remleigh, Maverick, Olivia, Mckinsley, Dalton, Jayce and Willow. Alongside his grandchildren, Rob was survived by his beloved mother-in-law Pauline Keeney and partner, Harry Farell, two sisters-in-laws April Lowe and Husband Ronny Lowe, Melissa Huffer and Husband Mike Huffer and one brother-in-law Shane Keeney and wife Billie Keeney and numerous nieces and nephews. Rob is preceded in death by maternal grandparents Merrill and Virginia Heintz and paternal grandparents, Roy and Helen Buttry, grandson Dominic Buttry, uncle Mark Heintz, Aunt Shirley Gray and his best buddy of 14 years Dallas.
Family will receive visitors from 5-7 on Friday, November 8, 2024, following the viewing a service will be held at 7pm at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Avenue, Smithsburg, MD. Online condolences can be made at www.jldavisfh.com.
