Richard Gerald Smith

Mr. Richard G Smith, 87 of Hagerstown, MD passed away Tuesday December 24, 2024, at Doey’s House. Born December 2, 1937 in Penn Mar, PA. He was the son of the late Floyd Smith and the late Thelma (Snoddley) Smith. Richard loved traveling to New England and cheering on the Boston Red Sox and Patriots, above all else he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his daughters, Allison Deal, Brenda Rohrer and Partner Kelly, Tracy Smith and Partner Martin, son Richard W Smith, Grandchildren: Ashley Buffington and Financee Mikey, Timmy J Deal Jr., Chris Fraley and wife Christina, Rickey Fraley Jr. and Finacee Sheree, and 12 Great Grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. Several Nieces and Nephews and a special Aide Julie. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Carol A Smith, daughter Theresa J Smith, granddaughter Rachelle E. Deal, Son-in-law Timmy J Deal Sr., 2 Sisters and 4 Brothers. A special Thank You to the staff of Doey’s house, we want to express our sincere gratitude for the role you played in the care of our dad. Richard is being cremated and there will be a service at a later date at the Rocky Gap veteran’s Cemetery.
