Robert Nathan Barnard, Sr.

Robert Barnard, 66, of Hedgesville, WV, died at his home on Monday, November 16, 2020. He was born on June 2, 1954 to Gloria and Ezekeil Barnard in Wilmington Delaware. He was survived by his 3 children; Amber Allen and her spouse Robert of Mercersburg, PA, April Biesecker and her significant other Seth Spessard of Hagerstown, MD, and Robert Barnard Jr and his wife Angie of Mercersburg, PA, his two brothers Corey Barnard of Rexburg, Idaho and Zeke Barnard of Inwood, WV, as well as Zeke’s two children, Arin Meinschein & David Barnand. He also left behind 6 grandchildren and many other nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Barnard, his brother Barry Barnard, and his mother Gloria “MeMe” Barnard and his father. Robert graduated from Fishburne Military School in 1972 and had a football scholarship to University of Delaware. Instead of attending college, he opted to serve our country in the United States Army as a diver and underwater welder. After serving in the Army he worked for Army Corps of Engineers, as a seaman on tugboats, and Holcim Cement Plant where he ultimately retired. During retirement, Robert loved to ride his Harley across the country and he loved the peacefulness of his home in West Virginia. Services and burial will be private.
