Roberta Devin, 81, of Quincy Village, and formerly of Wayne Heights, died on Sat., May 21, 2022. She passed peacefully from this life to be with her Savior Jesus in Heaven, where she also joined her beloved husband of 58 years, James, and their daughter Faith.
Mrs. Devin was born February 12, 1941, the third daughter of the Rev. Robert Crees and wife, Beulah, of Waynesboro. Having been raised in the church, faith was at the core of her life. Roberta and Jim lived in Wayne Heights for 40 years, where they raised two children, Douglas Devin and the late Faith Devin Abdelmagid. Mrs. Devin was a lifelong homemaker, and her focus was her home, family, and church. Both she and Jim were active members of Grace Brethren, where they also served as Sunday School leaders.
Mrs. Devin also loved spending time and holidays with her extended family. She had an extremely close bond with her three sisters, Dorothy, Rosemary, and Ginny, which remained strong throughout her entire life.
Mrs. Devin is survived by her son, Doug and wife, Melanie of Hagerstown, MD, in addition to five grandchildren: Melodie Vensko and husband George, of Smith Mountain Lake, VA; Matthew Roberts and wife, Sara, of Fayetteville, PA; Michael Roberts of Pensacola, FL; Dane Devin and wife, Barbara, of Williamsport, MD; and Troy Devin, of Hagerstown, MD.
She was a great-grandmother to eight and recently became a great-great-grandmother. Great-grandchildren are Colin Schneider, Parker Schneider, Emma Roberts, Gavin Roberts, Bryson Devin, Thomas Devin, Benjamin Devin, and Leon Devin. Her great-great-granddaughter is Ivory Schneider.
