Roy Allen McNairn

Roy Allen McNairn, 89, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Friday, June 12, 2026 at his home, with family by his side.

Born October 13, 1936 in Fiddlersburg, MD, he was the son of the late John D. and Fanny (Petre) McNairn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Leonard R. McNairn; Niece, Lisa, and Nephew, Mark.

He was a 1954 graduate of Hagerstown High School. He retired from MCTC as Captain after 33 years of service and worked part time at Washington County Hospital as a security guard. He was also a farmer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Phyllis Lorraine (Green) McNairn, Sons, Todd and Duane (Roni) and Daughter, Kelli Ridenour (Ray); 6 Grandchildren, Shelby Whipp, Shawna Guessford (Ben), Jordan McNairn (Mason), Connor McNairn (Hollee), Felicia Smiley (Jeremy) and Chad Ridenour; 9 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; Sister in Law, Betty McNairn; and Nephew, Sean (Bridgette).

When his children were young, Roy was one of the original volunteers for CSL Youth Sports. Roy and Phyllis enjoyed traveling across the U.S. and then wintering in Okeechobee, FL where they volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and Real-Life Children's Ranch.

He was a member of St. Peters (Beards) Lutheran Church where funeral services will be held Monday, June 22, 2026 at 11 AM. Friends will be received at the church two hours prior. 21348 Old Forge Rd. Hagerstown, MD 21742.
