Sandra Lee (Bailey) Newcomer, 75, passed away at Autumn Lake Healthcare at Glade Valley, Walkersville, MD, June 28, 2024. She was a resident of 5 Orndorff Drive, Smithsburg MD until July 14, 2021, when she began residence at commonwealth Senior Living dementia care, Hagerstown, MD.
Sandra graduated from Ceasar Rodney High School in Camden-Wyoming, DE, Class of 1966.
At Sandra's request, no service will be held.
Sandra was born August 31, 1948, in Dover, DE, she was the daughter of the late Harold Neal Bailey and Alice Ellen (Killen) Bailey. Sandra was a homemaker until she began employment in 1989, with Washington County Public Schools as a paraprofessional. Her locations for employment were Washington County Job Development Center and Smithsburg Elementary School. She retired on July 1, 2010.
Sandra loved planting flowers around her home, enjoying her family and helping others.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Richard S. "Dick" Newcomer of Smithsburg, MD; son and daughter-in-law Scott and Sarah Newcomer of Jupiter, FL; daughter and son-in-law Amy and Mark Barnhart of Smithsburg, MD; grandchildren, Bryan L. Cottrill, Calvin S. Newcomer, Kelly E. Newcomer, and Adam N. Barnhart; sister, Penny E. (Bailey) Broomel and husband Patrick of Camden-Wyoming, DE; brother Harold N. Bailstein and partner Lisa of St. Pete, FL; nieces, Kristen and Amber of Camden-Wyoming, DE.
Sandra looked forward to meeting her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the time of the Rapture. Interment will be in Smithsburg Mausoleum.
