Shirley Yvonne Kline passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, at Fahrney Keedy nursing home, on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
Shirley was born on August 30, 1936, in Ranson, WV to her loving parents, James and Golda (Penwell) Brown. Shirley married the love of her life, Billy Lee Kline, on January 1, 1958. They raised a daughter, Kathy, in Smithsburg, MD. Shirley was proud to be an RN and earned her BSN from Mount St. Mary’s University. She worked as a nurse and nurse manager for 41 years, primarily at Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, MD.
Shirley was a member of Christ Reformed United Church of Christ in Cavetown, MD. She was an excellent cook and had a passion for watching all organized sports, especially football and NASCAR. She enjoyed bird watching, reading, and helping others. Most of all, Shirley loved spending time with her family, and extended family, who will miss her greatly.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Lee Kline, as well as her parents, four sisters, and one brother.
Shirley is survived by her daughter Kathy (Susi) and husband David Bromley and beloved granddog Jilly, as well as her granddaughter Lauryn (Ladybug) and husband David McDonald. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Dick and Dottie Miller, sister-in-law Faye Kline, and brother-in-law Jay Kline as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will also be remembered fondly by her close friends whom she considered part of her extended family.
Prior to her death, Shirley requested no funeral services or celebration of life, and her family has chosen to honor her wishes.
