Scott Alan Smith

Scott Alan Smith, 67, of Falling Waters, WV, formerly of Smithsburg, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at his home.

Born on April 19, 1958 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Dora Virginia (Leather) and Ernest Brosie Smith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his Nephew, Bradley Smith.

Scott graduated from Smithsburg High School, class of 1976.

Scott worked as a laith operator for Statton Furniture in Hagerstown until they closed in 2008.  He then worked at Beachley Furniture and Millwork Company until his retirement in 2020.

Scott was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Smithsburg, MD. He was also a lifetime member of AMVETs #10, Hagerstown, MD.

He is survived by his Brothers, Wayne Smith and wife, Vivian, of Hagerstown, MD. and Dennis Smith and wife, Cindy, of Smithsburg, MD.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 6 PM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave. Smithsburg, MD 21783 with Pastor Julie Brigham officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 13025 Greensburg Rd. Smithsburg, MD 21783 or AMVETs#10, 770 Frederick St. Hagerstown, MD 21740.
