Shawna Gwen (Smith) Baker

Shawna (“Sunny”) Gwen Baker, 73, passed away on August 11th, 2024, at her home. She was the wife of David Richard Baker Sr. They shared 55 years of marriage together.

Born in Smithsburg, Maryland, she was the daughter of George and Lorraine Smith. She attended Smithsburg High School. She was employed as a home health nurse as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

Sunny was a member of the Independent Bible Church. She enjoyed bird watching, Elvis, and sunflowers. She will be remembered for her cooking, happy birthday songs, and most importantly her big heart.

Sunny is survived by her loving husband, David Baker Sr, two children, daughter Robin Moore (Shawn Moore), son David Baker Jr (Mary Baker), and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceeded into death by her parents and brother, Ronald Eugene Smith.

The memorial service will be held on August 19th, 2024 at Independent Bible Church (2306 Hedgesville Rd. Martinsburg, WV. 25403) The services will start at 11am.

In Lieu of flowers the family would like the donations to go to Independent Bible Church.
