Terry Lynn Smith

Terry Lynn Smith, 65, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2018 in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Born Monday, June 29, 1953 in Hagerstown, MD, he was the son of the late Paul Victor Smith and J. Evelyn (Schroyer) Smith. He was a graduate of Smithsburg High School class of 1971 and a graduate of Shepherd University. Terry retired from BB&T Bank and was employed by Germantown Bethel Church of God, Cascade, MD. He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church of Hagerstown, Independent Juniors Fire Company of Hagerstown, First Hose Fire Company of Hagerstown, Washington County Rehab Company 255 of Hagerstown, Friendship Lodge No. 84 A.F & A.M. of Hagerstown and several other Masonic organizations around the area. Terry is survived by his wife of 21 years, Cheryl “Sherry” Smith, step-son, Jay Beard and wife Jenessa, step-daughter, Jennifer Johnson and Companion Eric Wright and step-grandchildren, Tyler Johnson and Dylan Johnson. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 12, 2018 from 6-7pm at Otterbein United Methodist Church, Hagerstown, MD. A masonic service will begin at 7pm led by Terry’s home lodge, Friendship Lodge No. 84, followed by a memorial service at 7:30pm with Pastor Mark Hosler officiating. Arrangements were made by J.L.
