Troy Allen Heydt, 58, of Smithsburg, MD, completed his earthly journey on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Doeys House, Hagerstown, MD. If you had the privilege of knowing Troy, you loved him. He was born in Portland, OR, on December 27, 1965, he was the 1st child of Pastor Ed and Diane Heydt. He was a graduate of Broadfording Christian Academy, Class of 1983. In addition to his father, Troy is preceded in death by his grandparents. Troy is survived by his loving mother, Diane Heydt, two sisters, Terra Lorshbaugh and Tricia Potter (Doug), two nephews, Chris Lorshbaugh and Colton Beckman (Morgan Hoch), great-nephew, Christian Lorshbaugh, and great-niece, Blair Beckman, all who absolutely adored him. Later in life Troy was reunited with his biological father, Bill Burr. They were both thankful to meet, and to be able to build a nice relationship. He was also blessed to be able to meet his brothers, Brent, Trent, Kent, Adam, and sister, Sarah. Troy loved and had a passion for his family, friends, music, poetry, and art. He was employed by Apria Healthcare in Hagerstown, MD for over 25 years as a respiratory Technician. A Celebration of Troy's Life will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 2:00 pm at Broadfording Church, 13535 Broadfording Church Rd, Hagerstown, MD, officiated by Pastor Bill Wyand. We ask that all who knew and loved Troy to do one random act of kindness in memory of him. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Broadfording Christian Academy, or to Troys sisters, Tricia Potter and Terra Lorshbaugh, to help get Troy's poetry published.
