Van Dale Ridenour, 89, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2024, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.
Born September 3, 1934, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Van Cecil Ridenour and Ruby May (Carper) Ridenour.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 17 years, B. June (Mills) Ridenour, who passed away June 6, 1984. They were married December 31, 1966.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He retired from Mack Truck, Inc of Hagerstown.
He was a member of the Amvets, Elks Lodge and Funkstown American Legion.
He was an avid hunter and enjoyed riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his daughter, Tammy L. Franklin, step-son, Gregory E. Harman (Yolla), sister, Ruth Clevenger, six step-grandchildren, nine step-greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brother, Vernon Ridenour, half-sister, Betty King, granddaughter, Jessica Bachtell, and son-in-law, Jeffrey Franklin.
A graveside service will be held Friday, July 26, 2024, at 11:00am, at Park Head Cemetery, Pecktonville, MD.
