It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Viola Grace (Faircloth) Lowe, 72, of Frederick, previously of Damascus, MD, after a dignified and courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at her home, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on January 8, 1952, in Frederick, MD, she was the daughter of the late Grace (Faircloth) Lake.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard Otto Lowe, Sr.; Brother, Charlie Lake; and Sister, Kim Lake.
Viola leaves behind a legacy of love and nurturing in her two devoted sons, Richard Otto Lowe Jr., and Doulas Gordon Lowe and wife Christine Marie Lowe, who learned the essence of resilience and kindness through her example.
Her influence expanded beyond her immediate family, enveloping the neighborhood children, who saw her as a second mother.
Viola's joy multiplied by the blessing of 4 grandchildren, Christopher Ryan Stanley, David Scott Fitzwater, Amanda Elizabeth Fitzwater and Brandon Otto Lowe, and 10 great-grandchildren, Kayona Banks age 14, Rileigh Fitzwater age 13, Luke Stanley age 12, Winter Fitzwater age 7, Landon Lowe age 5, Rylan Lowe age 4, Xavier Barnes age 3, Rhaelynn Stanley age 1, Jasiah Barnes age 1, Jaina Fitzwater age 1. Each one of them was a spark of light in her life, and she cherished every moment she spent with them.
Viola is also survived by her brother, Jody and his wife Kathy Lake.
Viola will be laid to rest at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Frederick, MD.
May she rest in peace as we cherish every memory in our hearts.
