Valinda de Tamble Obituary

Valinda B. deTamble passed away peacefully on April 18, 2021 at Homewood Retirement Center. Valinda was born in Hagerstown, Maryland on January 12, 1922. She was the daughter of Valinda B Snively. She attended Hannah More Academy and Sweetbrier College. In 1940 she was a debutant in Hagerstown. She later graduated from Hood College with a degree in Education and taught special education at Marshall Street School until she retired in 1990. Valinda was an avid reader who loved books and poetry. She especially liked to read to children. She also enjoyed vacations at the beach and spending time in her yard with her flowers. She volunteered at various charities and belonged to the Arts and Letters Club and the Garden Club. She was most happy spending time with her family and friends. Later in life she enjoyed traveling with her friend William Hamiliton over much of the world. Valinda is survived by her son David Connor and daughter-in-law Clarisse Connor of Grasonville, Maryland, son-in-law Edward Fielden, granddaughter Kelly Fielden and great grandson Hudson Miller. She was preceded in death by her daughters Theresa Conley and Valinda Fielden. She will be buried at Rose Hill Cemetery in the family plot. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Those who wish to contribute to Valinda’s memory may do so to St John's Episcopal Church in Hagerstown. Arrangements were made by J.L.
