Verda Kathleen Winders

V. Kathleen (Pryor) Winders, 92, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away peacefully Friday, February 14, 2025, at her home, surrounded by loving family.

Born on December 25, 1932, in Smithsburg, MD, she was the daughter of the late Jessie A. (Trace) Pryor and Edgar Pryor.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Dale Rodney Winders; Brother, Edgar Pryor, Jr.; and Grandson, Brett Winders.

She was a farmer and involved in 4H as a child. She loved to cook for her family.

Kathleen was a lifetime member of Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren, Hagerstown, MD.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Smith; Sons, Mark Winders (Suzanne) and Randy "Matt" Winders (Misti); Grandchildren, Brandi Wagner, Travis Wagner, Melissa Ringquist, Jessica Winders, Brittany Miller, Kelly Winders, Hollee McNairn and Jarrett Winders; and 15 Great Grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 10 AM at J.L. Davis Funeral Home, 12525 Bradbury Ave. Smithsburg, MD 21783 with officiant Jean Minnick over seeing services. Interment will immediately follow in Beaver Creek Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD.

Family will receive friends Friday, February 21, 2025, from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
