Vernon Lee Smith, Sr.

Vernon Lee Smith, Sr., 77, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD. Born December 26, 1943, in Boonsboro, MD, he was the son of the late Kenneth Lee Smith and Rhea (Bowman) Smith. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda Carol (Johnson) Smith who passed away November 16, 2019. They were married October 19, 1965. He was a graduate of Boonsboro High School. He attended Manor Church of the Brethren. He retired from Eastalco Alcoa Works of Frederick, MD. He is survived by one step-daughter, Robin Heske (Steve), two daughters, April Gamber and Jamie Smith, two sons, Vernon Smith, Jr. (Lois) and Kenneth Smith (Michelle), four granddaughters, Ashley, Amber, Tori and Alethea, four grandsons, Trey, Preston, Brady and Bryson and numerous great-grandchildren.
