Vicki Arlinda (Gibbs) Follett

Vicki A. (Gibbs) Follett, 64, of Smithsburg, MD passed away peacefully at her home on November 10, 2021. Born August 2, 1957, in Warren, Ohio, she was the daughter of Curtis Gibbs and Arlene (Armstrong) Gibbs. Eldest of 10, she is survived by 8 siblings. Vicki Graduated from Mount Vernon Nazarene College with a degree in elementary education. Vicki taught for 39 years. She was Teacher of the Year in Washington County in 2002. Vicki coached Special Olympics athletics, bowling, basketball and assisted in long distance running and snowshoeing. In 1998, one of her relay teams competed in the Penn Relays. She also led several athletes to National and World Games. Vicki loved crafting, especially creating handmade cards to give to others. Vicki attended the Hagerstown Church of the Nazarene where she was the Nursery Director, Worship Team member and served on the Church Board. She is survived by her husband, John, sons, Lee and Eric, and daughter, Danielle. Her greatest loves were her two grandchildren. Vicki requested a private family service to protect the health of others. Her service will be December 4, at 11:00 AM, and will be live streamed on the Hagerstown Church of the Nazarene Facebook page.
