WALTER OLAF JOHANSON, JR.

Walter Olaf Johanson, Jr., 89, of Williamsport was called home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Doey's House surrounded by loving family.

Born on January 6, 1934, in New York City, NY, he was the son of the late Adelaide (DaRocha) and Walter Olaf Johanson, Sr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Timothy Olaf Johanson, and Father-in-law, Lester Nave.

He served in the U.S. Air Force.

Walter was a craftsman and master furniture builder since the 1980s, being featured in several publications. He owned a furniture store where he built and customized his own furniture located in the Poconos in the early 80s and then moved to Florida where he resumed his wood working.

Walter enjoyed Photography and was published in several magazines along with his woodworking and loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, LaDonna Carol (Nave) Johanson; Daughter, Patricia Johanson of Charlotte, NC; Son, David Richmond of Las Vegas, NV; Mother-in-law, Kathryn Nave; Brother-in-law, Hunter Nave; Sister-in-law, Roberta Nave; and numerous nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 1 PM at St. James Brethren Church, 17718 Lappans Rd. Fairplay, MD 21733.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Salvation Army of Washington County, 525 George St., Hagerstown, MD 21740; or to Williamsport Food Bank, 32 W. Salisbury St., Williamsport, MD 21795.
