He was admitted for a scheduled heart pacemaker procedure. It was successful, but he developed breathing, kidney complications and a gall bladder infection.
Wilbur, was born on January 14th, 1956, to the late Wilbur L Brunner Sr and Dorthy L Reese
Wilbur is survived by his half-brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Vickie Brunner and half-sister, Shirley Shank. He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Scruffy. He was predeceased by his greatly loved father, Wilbur, Sr., his mother Dorothy Reese Brunner, two half-brothers, Daniel and Nevin, four half-sisters, Mary Catherine Grimm, Cleo Weaver, Janice Brunner and Dianna Grimes as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Wilbur loved children, animals, and motorcycles. He was a foster care parent. He always had a dog, through thick and thin; Wilbur shared happy times with them, and they helped him through his rough times. Animals took to him easily and he loved them in return. He volunteered at REACH, a local facility for the homeless in Hagerstown MD. He cared for the poor. Wilbur enjoyed his Harley. Even after a tragic accident took his lower leg, he continued riding. He enjoyed long road trips with his brother riders. He’d comment on the beauty of God’s creation as he rode the Appalachians and valleys. Wilbur was a part of the Watering Hole Motorcycle Ministry for many years. Around him you’d not guess his pain from severe health problems and physical limitations. He was a fighter and continued working regularly.
Wilbur was a unique man. had a big heart and helped people he came across through life however he could. He loved his fellow brothers, sisters, and friends in Christ. He will be missed, but “we will see him on the other side.”
