WILLIAM NICHOLAS AUTH SR

William N. Auth, Sr., (fondly known as Bill), a resident of Smithsburg, MD, passed away on April 7, 2023, at the age of 82. He was born in Washington, DC, on April 1, 1941, and was known for his tall humor. Throughout his entire life, he cracked jokes and had the ability to make others smile and his sense of humor will be missed. While Bill left us far too soon, the impact he had on his community and church will be felt for years to come.

Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Hazel, his children, William N. Auth, Jr. (Sheyla); Nancy M. May (John); Brian D. Auth (Sabrina); April L. Auth; Sarah R. Conway (Christopher); siblings, Henry J. Auth III (Wilda); Robert H. Auth (Ann), James F. Auth (Deborah); Elizabeth L. "Betty" Stone (Don); as well as grandchildren, (Ashleigh, Meagan, Gabrielle, Cheyanne, Summer, Olivia, Kylie, Johnny, Lillian); great-grandchildren, (Oliver and Hudson); and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his father, Henry J. Auth, Jr.; mother, Marie L. Auth; sister, Patricia M. Gilbert; and grandson, Kenneth (Ken-Ken) S. McLester, Jr.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Emmanuel Chapel at 21815 Auburn Drive, Smithsburg, MD 21783 on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at 3:00 pm, officiated by Pastor Jonathan Laye.
