Walter E. Ridenour, Sr., 83, of Ringgold, MD, passed away Thursday, April 26, 2018 at Meritus Medical Center of Hagerstown. Born Tuesday, July 10, 1934 in Ringgold, MD, he was the son of the late D. Mark Ridenour and Mary L. (Koogle) Ridenour. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lee (Pryor) Ridenour February 20, 1998. He was a member of Welty Church of the Brethren, Greensburg, MD, and a member of Teamsters Local Union #992. Through the years, Walter carried occupations that included, farming, truck driving for P.I.E., owning and operating R&R Lawn Service, he was known as a local strawberry grower and was named the Egg Man by the people in Potomac Maryland that he delivered eggs and fresh produce to. Walter is survived by one granddaughter that he dearly loved, Alyssa Rose Ridenour, two daughters, Dorothy “Dottie” Ridenour and Valerie Oliver and husband Doug, one son, Walter E. Ridenour, Jr. and wife Holly, one sister, Mary Lou Cline, one brother, Sidney Ridenour and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, David Ridenour. Services will be held Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11:00am at Welty Church of the Brethren, with Pastor Michael Manthos officiating. Burial will be in Welty Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
